Biography
​Dr. McCaughey is especially interested in how
the sense of taste guides feeding behavior. He has studied this issue in
rodents, with in-depth explorations of individual differences in sweetener
preferences and need-based appetites for sodium and calcium. He has also
taught neuroanatomy and is interested in both normal brain function and the
consequences of neuronal injury, and he has mentored students in how to conduct
scientific research.
