    Biography

    Degrees:

Expected 2022 PhD Clinical Psychology, University of Delaware

MA., Clinical Psychology, University of Delaware

    MS, Psychology, Lehigh University

BS, Psychology - Concentration in Clinical Psychology, Lehigh University

    Research Interests:

Broadly, I am interested in the psychological and social factors that influence couples' adjustment to serious and chronic illness including breast cancer and type II diabetes. In terms of adjustment to illness, I am interested in psychological factors (e.g., fear of cancer recurrence, distress) as well as health behavior change following illness (e.g., sleep, physical activity).

Specifically, my research has examined the role of interpersonal communication patterns (e.g., protective buffering) on fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer survivors and their partners. More recently, I am interested in the relationship between fear of cancer recurrence and sleep disturbance in breast cancer survivors and their partners. My methodological interests include using intensive longitudinal designs (e.g., daily diary) to examine daily, within-person associations and using actor-partner interdependence modeling to examine adjustment from a dyadic perspective. Recently, I am also interested in examining sleep using objective measures such as actigraphy.
