Maximizing your advisement resourcesIn the psychology department, our goal is to teach students to take responsibility for their own education. We give you the tools and information you need to make smart decisions about your educational journey at UD. Psychology is a popular major, and we have found that most students have similar concerns during their careers at UD. We hold group advising sessions once or twice a semester about advance registration, careers in psychology, and graduate school. If you are a psychology major, it is your responsibility to check (or have forwarded) your @udel.edu email for notices regarding group advising sessions. If the group sessions and these web pages do not address all your questions, please consult with one of the three types of advisors available, faculty, the graduate TA for advising, and peer advisors (Click on the "advisors" link at the left). If you entered the major as a freshman in Fall 2005 or declare after this time, you will be required to complete the brief, informative psychology advising tutorial. After you complete the tutorial, you will be assigned to an advisor. The more prepared you are for your advisement consultations, the more the advising sessions will accomplish. Get the answers to your basic questions here, so you can spend your advising session discussing details of your own situation. When you have a question, you should follow these basic steps:
Peer advisors hold office hours in Wolf 202 to teach students where to find answers to their questions, how to register, and go over basic curriculum questions. Click on "Advisors" to the left to find out what their office hours are.
