In addition to exploring the cultural lifeview, TRIOS which is a model for the dual processes of self-protective and self-enhancing motivations for targets who must live in a universal context of racism. My current project explores what influences the responses of African-Americans towards events of discrimination and what mediates their interpretation of these events. This study begins to utilize the significance of TRIOS as a life view as it relates to racial understanding and the importance of one’s racial identity.
