Professor Dozier Awarded $3.3M NIMH Grant
Professor Mary Dozier has recently been awarded a $3.3millon grant from NIMH to work with caregivers who are at risk for having their infants removed from their care. The purpose of the grant is to examine the efficacy of an intervention designed to enhance sensitivity and nurturance of caregivers with the goal of facilitating the infants’ behavioral and biological regulation. Dr. Dozier says it is exciting to have the opportunity to intervene with families before there is a placement disruption. She has adapted the intervention from her previous work intervening with foster infants and their caregivers.
