Social PsychologyCarrie Veronica Smith
Research InterestsGenerally, my research interests are concerned with studying personal relationships with social psychological theories and methods. Research Summary: I am especially interested in studying how people’s conceptualizations of themselves and their motivations affect their relationship experiences (e.g., satisfaction, behaviors). For example, some of my current research examines how people’s self-esteem (both globally and sexually) is related to their sexual satisfaction. I am also interested in examining people’s perceptions of their daily social experiences. More specifically, I focus mainly on how various situational factors and individual differences affect the way people navigate their daily social lives. For example, some of my previous research has examined how people perceive their daily social interactions based on whether those interactions are with members of their in- or out-group.
