Advisement for Undergraduates

Overview of Advisement website

In the psychology department, our goal is to teach students to take responsibility for their own education. We give you the tools and information you need to make smart decisions about your educational journey at UD.

Peer advisors hold office hours in Wolf 202 to teach students where to find answers to their questions, how to register, and go over basic curriculum questions.

Welcome

-  The undergraduate advisement web pages should be the first place you look to answer your psychology advisement questions. We continually update this page with announcements, requirements, and information about the curriculum.

HDFS270/ PSYC270 does NOT count for the psychology major or minor

posted Thursday, November 12, 2009

In the registration booklet, HDFS270 appears cross listed as PSYC270.  However, we have asked to remove that cross listing, and this course will NOT be available to you for the PSYC major or minor.  Sorry for any confusion!

Having Trouble Adding a Class?

posted Friday, November 06, 2009

If you cannot add a class and you think you should be able to, then email six pieces of information to either fingerle@udel.edu OR advisement@psych.udel.edu.  Please email ONLY ONE Of these addresses!

1.  Your name
2.  Your ID number
3.  Your appointment time
4.  The course name and section number
5.  The course identifier in UDSIS (each course has a 4-5 digit number associated with it)
6.  The reason why you can't add the course

If you get a RED MESSAGE when you try to add a course in UDSIS, read it, and move on.  It may just be an "FYI" message.  If the course appears in your scheduling diagram, then you have been added to the course.

How do I get an advisor?

posted Tuesday, September 08, 2009

If you are a new psychology major, read here about how to get a Faculty Advisor in psychology.

For most of your curriculum and class questions, you will not need a faculty advisor right away.  Read here about who can help you:
